PATRICIA
Patricia was a late discovery adoptee. From a very young age, Patricia journeyed back and forth from the UK until finally settling in Australia. Patricia grew up as an only child, with her father passing when she was quite young. Decades later, after learning of her being adopted, she stumbled over her siblings via social media. They then all grapple to find their place in each other’s lives.
Being in such a position creates an added layer of reflection on her entire life of who she is and of her place in the world. As her story unfolds, you will learn of the complexities, challenges and endurance that she faces, to not only navigate the adoption terrain, but accept and integrate it as part of who she is.
Growing up in Scotland, Ferg knew he was adopted from a very young age. He attests to growing up having a "normal life". It wasn't until he reached his early twenties, when he wanted to find his natural family, that the whole show came crashing down. While all this is happening, his adoptive parents were hiding a big secret from him. His natural mother had in fact made contact with his adoptive parents, looking for her son, but they never told him. This added yet another layer of secrets and lies. A common denominator of the life of an adoptee.
